The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. WEDNESDAY NIGHT WALK-ABOUTS for ADULTS. Beginning on August 7th and continuing on each of the four Wednesdays in August, come on up to the Field Station at 7pm for an after-dinner guided walk. We can keep the “guided” part to a minimum and just make it a date night. We’ll cover 2 miles, more or less, depending on our mood. These are not day camp or school group programs. They are for adults to walk off dinner, shake off the day, get over that hump, and recharge. The Hiram College Field Station is located on Wheeler Road.
Time For Tots
2nd & 4th Wednesdays
Children ages 2-5 (adults stay for fun, siblings welcome) are invited to Time for Tots on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Our goal is to provide a safe indoor environment for young children to play, craft, enjoy music & burn energy. Time for Tots will run from 9/11/24 – 5/28/25. We will not meet if Ravenna Schools are closed. No need to sign up for this free event, just stop in and enjoy the fun. A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited. The meal is from 5-6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. Historical Society Event Cancelled

Due to unforeseen circumstances Freedom Township Historical Society’s August 13 program has been CANCELLED and rescheduled for the fall. This was to be a joint program with the Mantua and Shalersville societies and held at the Shalersville Town Hall. Freedom Twp Historical Society will resume its monthly programs on the 2nd Tuesday of September. Be sure to check the Villager or Farm and Dairy for future announcements.

Intro to Shooting Sports

Izaak Walton League of America, Martin L. Davey Chapter is hosting an Introduction to Shooting Sports on Aug 17 at 2 pm. This will be held at 9634 Newton Falls Road, Paris Township. The program is an intro to safety and handling of different types of firearms to 1st time hunters or new marksmen. Firearms, ammunition, ear & eye protection will be provided by the club.
