The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Garfield Historical Society will be installing a time capsule on September 21, 2024, to be opened in 80 years – Garrettsville’s 300th birthday. We have archival paper and pens to better preserve your letter for future generations of Garrettsville/Nelson/Freedom. Submit letters by visiting the Mott Building, 8107 Main St, Garrettsville – 1st and 3rd Saturdays each month from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, or look for our table at the Garrettsville Farmer’s Market June 6th & 20th. The Mantua Historical Society is continuing their weekly gatherings to learn local history, preserve it, plan events, and coordinate efforts with other organizations. In May we are working on letters from the Tinker family and boxes containing Crestwood memorabilia. We are always looking for new members. On Saturday May 18th at 7pm there will be a Benefit for Sam McGarvey at Skylane Bowling Garrettsville. Silent Auction, 50/50 raffle, $15.00 cover charge will include Pizza and one drink voucher with 1- $100.00 cash door prize. Music provided by The Arrow Band. Swiss Steak Dinner

First Congregational Church UCC in Rootstown is having our last fund-raiser drive-thru dinner of the season on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 4 to 6 pm. Dinners are $14.00 and include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, cole slaw, applesauce, green beans, corn, roll and cake. Please enter from St Rt 44. JAG Band Concert

Hiram Trail Work Day

Hiram Trail Work Day – June 4th, 5:00-7:00 PM. Meet at Gelbke Fine Arts Center parking lot (12000 Winrock Dr). Help expand the public trail system at Hiram College/Village. Work will include raking and clearing logs and brush. Bring work clothes, gloves, and water.
