Overeaters Anonymous Meetings

Mondays

Overeaters Anonymous (a community of people who support each other in order to recover from compulsive eating and food behaviors) meets in person every Monday, except legal holidays, at 10:00AM in the parlor of the First Presbyterian Church of Warren, 256 Mahoning Av NW, Warren, OH 44483. Please enter through the “Fellowship Hall” entrance on driveway. We look forward to meeting you! 

Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Mondays

The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Lunches are served T-TH from 11a-1p only $5-plate includes homemade soup or salad, entrée, dessert and beverage. Menu for the week is posted on Facebook, or just call 330-889-2733.

BINGO! At St. Ambrose

First & Third Tuesday

Come to St. Ambrose for Bingo, the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Doors open at 5:45pm and Early Bird starts at 6:45. Players must be 18 or over. Reasonably priced concessions. St. Ambrose is located at 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville. Check out our Facebook page for additional information.

Al Anon Meetings

Tuesdays & Wednesdays

What can you do when someone close to you drinks too much? Al Anon may be able to help. We meet Tuesdays 7:30 -8:30 pm at the Renaissance Center 9005 Wilverne in Windham or Wednesday 7-8 pm at Hilltop Christian Church, 4572 Prospect in Mantua. Meetings are completely confidential.

Free Community Meal

Third Wednesday 

Christ Lutheran Church 10827 Main St, Mantua will be offering their  Free Community Meal on on the third Wednesday of the month  from 5-6:30 pm. Please come and enjoy a wonderful meal and a  chance to visit with friends. For more info call the church at 330 274 2849.

Parkman 55+ Seniors

Loaves and Fishes Community Meal

A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram, and surrounding areas. Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited. The meal is from 5-6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township. We hope to see you there for good food and conversation.

Young At Heart Meetings

3rd Tues of Month

Young at Heart  organization for 55 and older, meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall.  We gather for meals, meeting and fellowship.  All denominations are welcome.  To attend or for more information call Jackie 330-569-4048.

Mantua Historical Society

Thursdays in May

The Mantua Historical Society is continuing their weekly gatherings to learn local history, preserve it, plan events, and coordinate efforts with other organizations.  In May we are working on letters from the Tinker family and boxes containing Crestwood memorabilia. Blessing of the Bikes

American Legion Post 674 in Windham will hold their third annual Blessing of the Bikes on May 4TH, 2024. Bikes will arrive at 11:30 AM and the Blessing will begin at 1:00PM. The Post is located at, 9960 East Center Street, Windham,Ohio.

MaRSI’s 2nd Friday Dinner

May 10

The Mantua Restoration Society (MaRSI) is holding their 2nd Friday Night Dinner, from 4 – 7pm, on Friday, May 10, 2024.  This month’s dinner features hot entrees, mouth-watering soups, an array of salads, and scrumptious desserts.  The Mantua Restoration Society is not permitted to charge a set amount and cannot mention what similar food might cost in a restaurant.  Donations are graciously accepted.  Dine in or carryout is available.  The dinner is held at the Mantua Center School Annex located at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Township.  Come join us for good food and community!

Antique Roadshow

May 14

Freedom Twp Historical Society’s May 14 program will be an Antique Roadshow held at our school # 2/museum located at 7276 St Rt 303.  Bring your small (can be carried in one or two hands) antiques for a local expert to identify and  describe its use or purpose.  Light refreshments will be served.  Our programs are free and open to the public and begin at 7 PM.  Handicap parking is on the west side of the building while regular parking is on the east side.  You may enter using the new front steps or by using the deck steps at the south end of the building.  The handicap chair lift is available for anyone needing it.  For questions, call Judy at 330.527.7669 and LMOM.

JAG District Choir Concert

Celebrate the talent and dedication of the James A. Garfield District Choir at their final concert of the 2024 school year on May 14 at 7 pm in the Iva Walker Auditorium. Featuring the melodious voices of the G-Men Youth Chorus and the High School Choir, this evening promises to be a showcase of musical excellence.

Join us at Garrettsville’s first cruise night of the summer on  Main Street this May 25th from 5-8 pm. Enjoy a variety of clasic and collectible cars, groove to the tunes spun by Crazy Dave DJ, and delight your taste buds with delicious food and refreshing DORA drinks available at our local eateries.

Garrettsville Village Memorial Day Services

May 27

Beginning at 9:00 am at the Maple Avenue veterans’ memorial, pay homage to our fallen heroes in a solemn ceremony. Following this, join the James A. Garfield Marching Pride as they lead a parade from the memorial to Park Cemetery (around 10:00 am), commemorating the spirit of those who served. Conclude the morning with services at Park Cemetery at approximately 11:00 am, offering a moment of reflection and gratitude.
