This summer one day of each week we will be serving lunch at the Mantua Village Park.  Picnic in the park is free & open to all, kids and adults.  Serving Thursdays  through August 1st. Trumbull Art Gallery in Warren announces that it will be accepting entries for its 49th TAG Annual Juried Exhibition on July 26th & 27th from noon to 4 pm. The show will open with a reception, open to the public August 3rd from 7-9 pm, with awards announced at 8 pm. Last day to see both shows will be August 23rd, earlier than stated on the entry form, because TAG will be relocating to Park Avenue on Courthouse Square beginning Sept. 1. Mission Possible Diabetes Family Event

Registration is open for the 3rd Annual Mission Possible Diabetes Family Event at Ravenna High School on July 27.  The day will include several educational sessions focusing on diabetic health, expert advice, free snacks, lunch, giveaways, and exhibitors with information.  Some of the topics will include: Obesity & Diabetes, Preventing long term complications, Diabetic Drugs, and Truth behind Diabetes and Your Feet. This year, a special guest will join the event.  Mr. Marcus Dupree, former NFL and AFL player.  Dupree will be on hand to share his journey with Type II diabetes. Youth Soccer Practice

Youth Fall Soccer League Signups

Ravenna Parks and Recreation still have openings for its Youth Fall Soccer League for League U-12 Girls & U-12 Boys: Age 10 by 7/31/13. The U12 league will play teams from Ravenna and as well as other local soccer programs in our area. A tournament will be held at the end of the season. Players receive a team t-shirt for the games. The Portage County Council of the American Legion Auxiliary will hold its annual picnic on August 1st at Deerfield Legion Post at 6pm. Their guests will be 30-40 Veterans from the Wade Park Veterans Hospital. Bainbridge Swing Dance

On August 3rd Portage County Chapter #600 Parents Without Partners will have a taco supper from 6:30-7:30pm and its monthly dance from 7:30-10:30pm at the Ritchie Memorial Shelter House, 109 West Avenue in Tallmadge. Event is open to the public and nonmembers are invited to join the PWP members to celebrate the “Fiesta Night” dance theme. The cost for the dance is $6 per person for members and $8 for nonmembers. Free Youth Archery Clinic

The Eagle Creek Conservation Club will be conducting a Free Youth Archery Clinic August 3rd. The event will take place at the club property located at 5525 Eagle Creek Road, Leavittsburg, Ohio 44430. Crestwood Primary Offers Summer Safety Town Program

Crestwood Primary School (CPS), in conjunction with their PTO, is offering Safety Town for Fall 2013 kindergarteners. The program will run from August 5 – 9 at CPS from 9 – 11:30 am and will cover fire, bus, playground safety, stranger awareness and other important topics to help your child learn to stay safe. The Garfield band department is again offering its summer music camp for all band students entering 6th through 8th grade.  The camp is August 5-9 and the students will perform a concert on August 9th at 7pm.  The cost of the camp is $35 and includes a t-shirt and a pizza party. All room mothers and mothers who have fond memories of their child’s school years at the Freedom School are invited along with their guests.
