Annie’s Project – Empowering Women In Agriculture.OSU Extension in Summit and Portage Counties are teaming up to offer Annie’s Project. Annie’s project is a six-week program designed to address risk management education for farm women. The program topics covered include human resources, legal risks, financial risks, marketing risks, and production costs and risks. N. Bloomfield Harvest Dinner

The North Bloomfield Historical Society will be hosting the annual Harvest Dinner on Oct 10 at 6:00 pm. It will be a potluck event with table service, drinks and ham provided. The venue is the Bloomfield Town Hall at 8830 Park Drive. The speaker will be Sean Posey, author of the book, Historic Theaters of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, published in 2017. Eagles Club Fish Fry

The Garrettsville Eagles Club on Water Street is hosting a fish fry on Oct 12 from 5-8 pm. Your choices are: Chicken strip dinner; Shrimp dinner; Combo dinner; Fish dinner. They will be $10 each. All you can eat fish dinner will be $13 (no to go orders for all you can eat)

Chainsaw Safety Training

Maple Producers of NE Ohio are presenting a Chainsaw Safety Training with Kevin Snyder, Maple instructor for the Game of Logging Training Organization. It will focus on introducing the participant to open face felling and the development of techniques to safely use it. Topics covered: personal protective equipment, chainsaw safety features, chainsaw reactive forces, bore cutting, pre-planning the fell, and understanding hinge wood strength. Date: October 13. Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner

spaghetti and meatball dinner with salad, bread, pie, coffee, and juice. Which will be held on Oct. 13 from 4 to 6 pm at the lodge; 216 East Main St./ Rt. 88 in West Farmington. Chicken and Biscuits at G-Ville Methodist

The Garrettsville United Methodist Church will host a chicken and biscuits dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the historic building on 8223 Park Ave. There will be chicken and biscuits, green beans, applesauce, cole slaw, desserts, and beverages. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for age 12 and under.There will also be a silent auction with handmade items and a quilt, candle baskets, and a painting. Everyone is invited and carry-outs will be available. The dinner will raise funds to replace the roof on the educational annex.

Earthquake Van Trip

Saturday, October 20, 10 AM-3 PM, meet at Big Creek Park’s Meyer Center Celebrate “Earth Science Week” on this van tour of earthquake-related sites in Geauga and Lake counties. We’ll visit some active seismographs that measure Ohio’s frequent, small earthquakes, as well as the epicenters of some notable Northeast Ohio earthquakes, including the magnitude 5.0 earthquake of January 1986. A drive to each site will include a quick explorations on foot. Participants should bring a packed lunch and dress for the weather. Auditions For “Clue”

Curtains up Theatre will hold auditions for their production of “Clue on Stage” October 27 at 1pm and October 30 at 7pm at the James A. Garfield High School.
