NF Kiwanis Benefit Annual Geranium Sale
Newton Falls Kiwanis Club is currently taking pre-sale orders for their annual flower sale. Cost is $3.75 per 4” plant, and this year we are doing pre-sales only. We will deliver local orders of 6 plants or more on May 17-18, or arrange for you to pick up in town if you order fewer than six. Grief Gathering 2018

St. Ambrose Church will be offering “to the community” a grief gathering on Wednesday evenings,through May 23, from 7 to 9 pm in the church hall. Linda R. Simpson , a parishioner, will be facilitating the six weekly sessions of continuous information and support for grieving individuals. This beautiful, gentle program is a wonderful “first step” in helping yourself, or assisting another, through the difficult journey of grieving a loss. It would be helpful in our planning if interested participants would call the rectory (330-527-4105)

Tack Swap

This Saturday, May 5th, the Portage County 4-H Saddle Horse Committee is hosting a Tack Swap at the Randolph Fairgrounds from 9 am to 2 pm. Free admission. There will be everything for horse and rider plus a lot more. If you have “stuff” to sell, you can still pay at the gate for a spot inside or outside, which will be $20.00. We will have over 200 vendors setting up with many GREAT BARGAINS for all. There will be a food booth set up with breakfast and lunch available, plus the small animal committee is having a pancake breakfast.

Spring Wildflower Hike Part 2

A Brief History of Antisemitism

For three Monday nights, May 7, 14, and 21 you are invited to take part in a brief study group at the United Methodist Church of Garrettsville on the History of Antisemitism. The instructor will be Rev. Rich Thewlis, Pastor, who also teaches at Hiram College and has been a student of the subject for 39 years. Groups will meet from 7 pm – 8:30 pm at the church located at 8223 Park Ave. This will be a condensed version of the “Introduction to Antisemitism” course which Rev. A Junket to India

Children as young as 5 years old but not older than 8 by May 1 2018 are welcome to play on this year’s NEW MODIFIED FLAG FOOTBALL MIGHTY MITE full gear team! We welcome all elementary school children, sorry, no 7th graders. In-person sign-ups May 10th from 6-8pm in the JAG Elementary School Lobby — please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate. Children will also be required to have a sports physical on file with the program for the 2018 playing year. ISRAEL AT 70: History and Present Situations

It has been 70 years since David ben Gurion made his pronouncement to the world of the formation of the modern State of Israel. There has been much conflict and much trouble in the last 70 years. Something for everyone; food, children’s activities, music, 50/50 raffle, basket raffle, and Community resources and speakers. Come join us as we recognize those lost to substance abuse with a special shoe ceremony, and lift spirits for those still struggling or affected by this terrible disease. The Portage County Historical Society is planning its Spring Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the Historical Society grounds, 6549 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna.
An added feature this year will be a fundraiser sale of 19th and 20th century antiques (none belonging to the society), plants and miscellaneous items. Vendors are needed. Patriotic Service and Bike Blessing with Rolling Thunder

Come join us for this special service for Rolling Thunder followed by a bike blessing and a pot luck picnic at Hambden Township Park. Please bring a dish to pass. Discovering Paradise at Bristol Public Library
