Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Mondays

Senior Center will be open for breakfast Monday mornings 7am to Noon. We will be COVID compliant, so PLEASE call 330-889-2733, as reservations are highly recommended. Temperatures will be taken at the door and anyone reading a temp of 100 deg will be turned away. Call with questions/concerned 330-889-2733.

Wing Night at the Eagles Club

Drum Movement Class

Wednesdays

The Portage County Senior Center has begun a new “Drum” movement class to foster simple movements and stretches, all the while having lots of fun to music.  Senior friends currently join together on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 for a simple 25 minute session that can be done sitting or standing.   As attendance increases, a potential Monday or other days will be added.  For more information on this or other programming, they can be reached at 330-297-3456.  They are located at 705 Oakwood St. (Floor G) in Ravenna and are open to all Portage County seniors aged 60 and up.

Canner Pressure Testing Drive-Thru Clinic

Are you preparing to can fresh fruits and vegetables from your garden or local market? Before starting come out to our canner pressure gauge testing clinic. We will be offering two drive though clinic days this summer.  Monday June 21st 2021 we will be testing pressure gauges from 9 am -Noon. This is a FREE drive-thru clinic at Portage Soil and Water Conservation District, 6670 OH-88, Ravenna, OH 44266. We ask that you remain in your car. Be ready to hand your pressure canner to a staff member.  For any additional information or questions please call the extension Office at 330-296-6432.

St. Ambrose Church 61st Chicken Dinner & Raffle

Come join us for our well known delicious chicken dinner on Sat June 26 & Sun June 27–12noon to 6pm both days!  Dinners are $12 for adults and $8 for kids. Dine in the hall, dine in the tent or take home!  Money Raffle for $500, $250 and $100!  Raffles for TV, gas grill, local gift card basket, lottery tree, wine basket and more!  Drawings at 6pm – winners need not be present!  Hotdogs, chips and pop will be available also! 

Chardon Polka Band Service, Concert & Picnic

Come enjoy the Chardon Polka Band as they lead a polka-filled worship service at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road, Chardon on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.  Following the worship service, the Chardon Polka Band will present a free, two hour concert at the church from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.  Members of the congregation will provide a picnic lunch for those in attendance.  If you plan on attending the worship service and/or the concert, please bring a lawn chair.  And bring the kids for this family-friendly event!  A free-will offering will be taken to benefit Hope for Kids Geauga, a non-profit helping children in need.  Event will be held rain or shine.

Hiram’s 4th of July Festivities

The Hiram Firefighters Association will be hosting Hiram’s annual 4th of July festivities on Friday, July 2nd. There will be a Bike Rodeo, Parade, and Fireworks. SUPER JOY: Learning To Celebrate Everyday Life

10:00AM Monday, July 5th join the Montly Book Review & Discussion at the Garrettsville YMCA, 8233 Park Avenue. The book’s Author, Psychiatrist Paul Pearsall, PhD emphasizes the rewards of “Joyology”.  Each chapter is followed with a short quiz intended to help recognize individual needs.  A stimulating hour is shared exchanging impressions & opinions.  Presented by Dr J Patella in cooperation with Garrettsville YMCA.   Community members welcome:  No fee.  Membership & book are not required.  Questions: YMCA (330)469-2044.

July Sidewalk and Community Garage Sale in Middlefield
