Program on Local Civil War History
April 10
The Freedom Township Historical Society is hosting a special program on local Civil War history at 7 pm April 10 at the Freedom Community Center, 8940 S.R. 700. Civil War re-enactor Mike McCoy will talk about the 104th Ohio Regiment followed by a showing the documentary “The Sojer Boys of Portage County in the Civil War.” A Q&A session will follow the movie. The event is free and popcorn and drinks will be provided. Donations will be accepted for our schoolhouse restoration project.

St. Ambrose Church will be offering “to the community” a grief gathering on Wednesday evenings, April 18 – May 23, from 7 to 9 pm in the church hall. Linda R. Simpson , a parishioner, will be facilitating the six weekly sessions of continuous information and support for grieving individuals. This beautiful, gentle program is a wonderful “first step” in helping yourself, or assisting another, through the difficult journey of grieving a loss.
