Second Blessings Thrift Shop 

Our furniture room is now stocked full of new donations of used furniture, lamps and occasionally antiques.  From our two overflow rooms shoppers can fill one of our shopping carts for only $20.00.  In the Second Blessings Thrift Shoppe we have many new household items and many items in like new condition, all reasonably priced. Shopping hours are Monday, Tuesday, Friday 10am-4pm and Thursday 12pm-4pm. We accept cash and checks.   Stop in and shop! 9005 Wilverne Avenue in Windham. 330-326-3003. 

Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Mondays

Senior Center will be open for breakfast Monday mornings 7am to Noon. We will be COVID compliant, so PLEASE call 330-889-2733, as reservations are highly recommended. Join us the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month, 10am, for a Book Review & Discussion: The Top 10 Things Dead People Want To Tell You – Author Mike Dooley. Parkman 55+ Seniors

First Thursday of Month

Please join area seniors over 55 for a monthly gathering on the first Thursday at the Parkman Community Center at 11:30 am. The gathering includes a pot luck lunch, socializing and various programs such as entertainment, informational lectures, and field trips.  Also, open to non-Geauga County residents.

Loaves  and Fishes Community Meal

Last Thursday of Month

Free  meal  open  to  all residents in Mantua, Hiram, Garrettsville and surrounding areas.  Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars or even if you just love a homemade meal.  You are cordially invited to come eat and enjoy some fellowship. This meal is from 5-6:30 pm, the LAST Thursday of each month at Mantua Center Christian Church. 4118 S.R.82.  This runs January through October.

NF Kiwanis Benefit Annual Geranium Sale

Newton Falls Kiwanis Club is currently taking pre-sale orders for their annual flower sale. Cost is $4.75 per 4”-pot plant (red or pink), and this year we are doing pre-sales only. Lions Club Sausage Trailer

May 6 & 7

The Windham Lions Sausage Trailer will be open May 6th and 7th, across from Circle K, Friday 10-7 and Saturday 10-2.  Steak and Sausage sandwiches $5.00. We will also be collecting your plastic bags on Saturday 10 -12.  Come and support the community!

Bike Blessing

International women riding day blessing of the bikes to be held May 7 at Yestertech, 34460 Lakeshore Blvd, Eastlake. Blessing at 11 am; ride after noon.  Presented by the Dragonflyers. 

Annual Plant Sale

May 7

Perennial Gardeners of Chesterland,  Annual Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 7th.  The day before Mothers’ Day.   8 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Rain or shine! Chester Town Hall Parking Lot  12701 Chillicothe Rd. 44026 (Rte. 306 just North of Rte. 322) Large assortment of hanging baskets, perennials, house plants and annuals. Check out the Garden Shed and the Boutique for some surprises and maybe even a Mother’s Day gift!

Garrettsville Cemetery Association Meeting

Everyone is invited to attend the Garrettsville Cemetery Association meeting to be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 6:30 pm at the Mott Building which is the J. A. Garfield Historical Society Building located on the corner of Main and High Street. Continuation of the restoration of the Historic Baptist Cemetery located on Maple Ave. is our main objective. Friends of the Library Book Sale

May 11 – 14

The Friends of the Garrettsville Library will be holding a book sale in the library meeting room and main floor on the following dates:  Wednesday, May 11 from 10:30 am – 12 pm for members of the Friends and 12-5 pm open to the public; Friday, May 13 from 10:30-5; Saturday, May 14 from 9:30 am – 2 pm. Dollar Deals will be offered from 12-2 pm on Saturday – Fill a bag for $1, bring your own bag, any size.  Membership in the Friends is just $5 and may be purchased at the door or in advance at the library.  Call 330-527-4378 for more information. 

Friendly Squares May Square Dance

The Friendly Squares will host their monthly square dance, Saturday, May 14, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St., Niles, Ohio. Gene Hammond will be the caller and Frankie Hammond will be cuing line dances. This will be a plus dance. Dress is casual and light refreshments will be served.
