In the Second Blessings Thrift Shoppe we have many new household items and many items in like new condition, all reasonably priced. Parkman 55+ Seniors
First Thursday of Month
Please join area seniors over 55 for a monthly gathering on the first Thursday at the Parkman Community Center at 11:30 am. With the exception of an occasional field trip, the gathering includes a pot luck lunch and socializing and variuos programs such as entertainement, informational lectures and Bingo. The Mantua Historical Society’s next program will be Monday, June 13 at 6:00pm in the Mantua Township Town Hall located at 4122 State Route 82, Mantua, OH 44255. Larry Carver will show a Power Point presentation on the “Mormon History in Early Portage Co.” Our meetings are free & open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Program on Freedom’s Dew Drop Inn

Freedom Township Historical Society will host “Dew Drop Inn and Tavern Days” with Margaret Garmon at 7 pm June 14 at the Freedom Picnic Pavilion, 8966 S.R. 700 (right across from the town hall). Margaret is the daughter of John and Margaret Murvay who operated the Dew Drop in in Drakesburg during the 1950s. Margaret, who is a former Record-Courier columnist and a retired journalism and communications professor at Kent State University, will take a fond look back at growing up as the tavern owner’s daughter.

Chardon Polka Band Worship, Concert, and Picnic Benefit

Come enjoy the Chardon Polka Band as they lead a polka-style worship service as only they can do at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road, Chardon on Sunday. June 26, 2022 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Following the worship service, the Chardon Polka Band will be in concert from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. During this time, a free picnic-style lunch will be provided by members of Celebration. Those attending are encouraged to bring children (there will be activities for them) and also to bring lawn chairs.
