Newton Falls Memorial Day Parade
May 30
Parade will form at the west parking lot of Cadle Company by the fire station at 10:00 a.m. It will move out at 10:30 sharp go south on N Canal to Broad Street. Go west on Broad Street to the West River Bridge. The head of the parade will halt at the West River Bridge where the VFW Auxiliary 3332 and Judge Philip Vigorito will hold a Memorial Service for the Men and Women lost at sea. It will then proceed to Veterans Park.
Program on Freedom’s Dew Drop Inn

Freedom Township Historical Society will host “Dew Drop Inn and Tavern Days” with Margaret Garmon at 7 pm June 14 at the Freedom Picnic Pavilion, 8966 S.R. 700 (right across from the town hall). Margaret is the daughter of John and Margaret Murvay who operated the Dew Drop in in Drakesburg during the 1950s. Margaret, who is a former Record-Courier columnist and a retired journalism and communications professor at Kent State University, will take a fond look back at growing up as the tavern owner’s daughter.
Chardon Polka Band Worship, Concert, and Picnic Benefit

Come enjoy the Chardon Polka Band as they lead a polka-style worship service as only they can do at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road, Chardon on Sunday. June 26, 2022 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Following the worship service, the Chardon Polka Band will be in concert from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. During this time, a free picnic-style lunch will be provided by members of Celebration. Those attending are encouraged to bring children (there will be activities for them) and also to bring lawn chairs.
