Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

Senior Center will be open for breakfast Monday mornings 7am to Noon. We will be COVID compliant, so PLEASE call 330-889-2733, as reservations are highly recommended. Parkman 55+ Seniors

First Thursday of Month

Please join area seniors over 55 for a monthly gathering on the first Thursday at the Parkman Community Center at 11:30 am. The gathering includes a pot luck lunch, socializing and various programs such as entertainment, informational lectures, and field trips.  Also, open to non-Geauga County residents. 

Loaves  and Fishes Community Meal

Free  meal  open  to  all residents in Mantua,Hiram,Garrettsville and surrounding areas.  Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars or even if you just love a homemade meal.  You are cordially invited to come eat and enjoy some fellowship. This meal is from 5-6:30 pm, the LAST Thursday of each month at Mantua Center Christian Church. 4118 S.R.82.  This runs January through October.

NF Kiwanis Benefit Annual Geranium Sale

Newton Falls Kiwanis Club is currently taking pre-sale orders for their annual flower sale. Cost is $4.75 per 4”-pot plant (red or pink), and this year we are doing pre-sales only. Outdoor Easter Sunrise Service In Newton Falls

April 17

An “Outdoor Easter Sunrise Service” will be held Sunday, April 17 beginning at 7:30 AM.  The outdoor service will take place at the Newton Falls City Park – at the pavilion located near the basketball courts.  The 35-40 minute service, led by First Baptist Church, Newton Falls, will include Easter hymns, prayer, communion and a brief devotion.  Individuals may bring lawn chairs to sit in the grass area or may remain in their cars and listen on their radio as the service will also be broadcast using an FM transmitter.  Host pastor is Rev. Steve Spurlock.

Windham UMC Easter Sunrise Service

April 17

Windham United Methodist Church, located at 9051 North Main St., Windham, Ohio  44288, will be hosting a Sunrise Service at the Gazebo on April 17.  The service will begin at 7:30 am. Please bring your lawn chairs.

3-D Mammograms at JAG Elementary

April 19

Women’s Diagnostic Center will be here on April 19, 2022.  If you want the convenience of not having to go out of town to get a mammogram, please call the Elementary 330-527-2184 and ask for Gail to schedule your mammogram. You will need to bring your insurance information to your scheduled appointment. Call by April 18, 2022.

at Emidio’s Expo Center,  48 E Bath Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, Oh 44221.     Hours:  Sat 10-6, Sun 10-5.  Admission:  Adults $5.00, Seniors (55+) $4.00, Children 7-14 $1.00, Under 7 and Scouts in uniform  Free.

Windham Blessing of the Bikes

Spaghetti Benefit Dinner for Ken Alexander

April 30

Garrettsville Lodge is holding a spaghetti dinner benefit on Saturday, April 30  from 5 pm to 8pm. All proceeds will benefit Ken Alexander (a member of the lodge that suffered a major medical event and then a few days later his daughter passed away during childbirth). Adults will be $10, kids 10 & under $5. We’re planning on having a few items to raffle as well.

Singing Weavers

May 1

The Singing Weavers will minister in song on Sunday, May1 at the 10:30 service at The First Congregational Church of Freedom 8961 St. Rt. 88 Windham, OH 44288 in Freedom Township.  Following the service there will be a potluck lunch.  Women are welcome to wear hats decorated with flowers for this May Day  service. Verlin Weaver passed away July 12, 2020 but his son Dennis & wife Chris and their daughter Alyssia will be singing with Dennis’s mom Linda Weaver at the Keyboard.

Annual Plant Sale

Perennial Gardeners of Chesterland,  Annual Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 7th.  The day before Mothers’ Day.   8 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Rain or shine! Chester Town Hall Parking Lot  12701 Chillicothe Rd. 44026 (Rte. 306 just North of Rte. 322) Large assortment of hanging baskets, perennials, house plants and annuals. Check out the Garden Shed and the Boutique for some surprises and maybe even a Mother’s Day gift!

Friends of the Library Book Sale

May 11 – 14

The Friends of the Garrettsville Library will be holding a book sale in the library meeting room and main floor on the following dates:  Wednesday, May 11 from 10:30 am – 12 pm for members of the Friends and 12-5 pm open to the public; Friday, May 13 from 10:30-5; Saturday, May 14 from 9:30 am – 2 pm. Dollar Deals will be offered from 12-2 pm on Saturday – Fill a bag for $1, bring your own bag, any size.  Membership in the Friends is just $5 and may be purchased at the door or in advance at the library.  Call 330-527-4378 for more information.
