Ravenna – The Portage County Senior Center will begin their Mahjong instruction on Friday, April 12th at 12:30. Mahjong is a tile game that involves strategy and its popularity has been spreading through the country in local senior/community centers. An instructor will be on hand for a few weeks to get things started and answer any questions about the game. Mahjong games will be then held each Friday afternoon along with the other groups of seniors involved in various card games, dominoes, etc.
The Portage County Senior Center will continue instruction on beginning quilting on Tuesday, April 16th at 9:30. The newly-formed Quilting Group meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month. The senior center has a sewing machine and basic supplies for those who would like to work on projects while visiting.
The monthly Lunch & Learn will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 11:30. This monthās topic will be āLeaving a Legacyā presented in coordination with The Hospice of The Western Reserve. The lunch will be provided by Arbors of Streetsboro. There is no cost for the event, but sign-up is required and can be done by calling 330-297-3456.
The Portage County Senior Center will hold their Quarterly Birthday Party on Wednesday, April 17th. They will hold an early bingo game at 10:00, followed by a celebration of Song, Cake & Ice Cream as they celebrate birthdays in April, May and June.
