This American Heart Month, University Hospitals will bring the expertise of the UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute to the community during a morning of free health screenings and interactive educational programs designed to help maximize heart health.
Registration is open for the University Hospitals Heart Healthy Expo on Saturday, February 15, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the NEW Center at Northeast Ohio Medical University located at 4211 State Route 44, Rootstown, Ohio 44272. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
Guests can enjoy heart screenings, breakfast, an array of exhibitors and learn from numerous physicians in attendance about heart and vascular disease causes, risk factors, management, and treatment options.
“As we celebrate Heart Month, we want to make sure the community is armed with the knowledge of how they can best protect their hearts,” said Anjan Gupta, MD, interventional cardiologist, and the Heisler-Tsai Master Clinician in Cardiology at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute at UH Portage Medical Center.
“Portage County has one of the highest rates of cardiovascular disease as well as mortality from cardiovascular disease. During this event, the community will have the opportunity to hear directly from experienced caregivers who are ready to answer questions and explain how to best safeguard their health.”
