Ravenna – United Way of Portage County (UWPC) will kick off their annual campaign on Thursday, October 6th, 2022. The Campaign Kickoff event – Unite at the Drive-In – will be at Midway Drive-In in Ravenna! The event will feature a video on the big screen of United Way’s impact on the community, live music by local band Mississippi Wheelhouse, raffle baskets, cornhole, kids’ games and prizes, and showings of movies Lyle, Lyle Crocodile and Top Gun Maverick.
Join United Way between 6pm and 10pm on October 6th for a fun, family-friendly event. UWPC will show a short video of their services to the residents of Portage County over the past year and how you can help support your neighbors in Portage County. The event tickets are available at www.uwportage.org/upcoming-events for $10 donation per car. The event is open to the public. Attendees will enjoy snacks prepared by culinary staff at NEOMED’s The New Center, raffle baskets, 50/50 raffle and plenty of fun.
The Campaign Kickoff marks the start of United Way’s annual fundraising efforts and gives the organization an opportunity to thank local companies, donors and volunteers for their generosity and commitment to our community. “Our call to action is clear,” said Pam England, Marketing Director at Portage Community Bank and United Way’s 2022 Campaign Chair. “We are asking everyone in the community to be a champion for change. Donations of any amount to United Way make a real difference and impact for those who need it most, right here at home.”
This year, UWPC is partnering with 36 programs to provide services to families and individuals throughout Portage County. These local programs provide food, shelter, healthcare, victim services, and educational initiatives. United Way’s annual campaign is a vital part of the organization’s work because 100% of every dollar given to UWPC goes to support these much-needed programs.
