The Twentieth Century Club of Garrettsville held their annual Christmas party on December 11, 2025 at the estate of member Jane Hill as snow and cold swirled outside and warmth reigned within. Members answered the roll call with personal favorites about the holiday–old days and cold days. Reminiscences ruled. Hearing bells–church, jingle, sleigh– were said to signal belief in the wonder of it all. Nasreen Kitko gave a reading–with commentary–of “A Visit from St. Nicholas” (better known as “The Night Before Christmas”) and a reading of a Persian poem, in Farsi, with interpretation, to great interest from the audience. Cards were exchanged and donations of kids’ socks and underwear for the People Tree/NGCC were received. There was a snowball fight in the living room. Hostess Jane Hill and co-hostesses Leah Schultz and Connie Pesecky offered delicious refreshments which were consumed before attendees made for the doors and their snow-covered automobiles.
It was very merry.
