Garrettsville – Garrettsville Girl Scout Troop #90206 is proud to announce the completion of their Bronze Award project, a Free Little Pantry. The pantry is located at 8233 Park Avenue in Garrettsville and is available to everyone 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The pantry operates on a “take what you need, give what you can” system and will be long-term, self-sustaining with community support. In the meantime, the girls will keep the pantry stocked. Non-perishable food and personal hygiene donations are welcome and can be placed directly inside the box or dropped off at the YMCA office. The Bronze Award is the third-highest award in Girl Scouting and can only be earned as a Girl Scout Junior. Juniors are girls in 4 or 5th grade and the Bronze Award is the highest award they are eligible to earn. To earn this award, the girls in Troop #90206 had to identify a need in their community, then work as a team while connecting with community members and resources to create a sustainable solution. The Project was originally planned for completion in the Spring of 2020 but was delayed by the global pandemic. The girls have now advanced to the Cadette level and are looking forward to beginning work on their Silver Award. Congratulations to the Girls of Troop #90206. You are truly making the world a better place!
