If you like supporting local businesses, and especially if you’ve got a sweet tooth, then you’ll be happy to know that Tracey Garrett’s Top Tier Pastry Shop (4668 East Prospect Street) celebrated their Grand Opening in Mantua.
“As a customer, I’m glad to have Tracey’s store back in Mantua,” Randy Ellis, President of the Mantua-Shalersville Chamber of Commerce noted. “I’ve talked to several of her customers who drive 30 minutes or more to pick up a box of treats. We’re so lucky that her shop is right here for us!”
“Top Tier Pastry moved into a storefront that hadn’t been used for several years,” Ellis noted. “I can’t believe the difference it makes on the street when a space that was vacant is suddenly filled with life and customers going in and out.” In place of covered windows and an empty, quiet space, the Top Tier Pastry shop is full of life, inviting visitors inside with the tantalizing aroma of fresh baked goods wafting out onto the sidewalk.
“It adds a level of excitement for all the businessowners to see more customers walking around,” Ellis added. With every local shop that opens, residents have even more options to stay nearby and local instead of leaving town to visit the big box stores. “It’s so easy now to spend an enjoyable part of your day in Mantua getting a meal, wandering around with your coffee, picking up the items you need, then getting a treat for the ride home,” Ellis remarked.
According to an Ohio Department of Transportation Traffic Monitoring study, up to 10,000 cars pass through Mantua on any given day. “Six years ago, there wasn’t much reason to even slow down,” Ellis noted. “Today, drivers have several reasons to slow down, stop and shop. I’m especially proud that each of our business owners offers unique items that you can’t find in a chain store,” he concluded.
Whether you live nearby or you’re in town to hike or bike the trails or paddle the river, make time to relax and enjoy a meal or a treat after your excursion.
Top Tier Pastry joins neighboring businesses including ARHS, Bibury & Co, Crooked River Flowers, J & J Sales, Jake’s Eats and Market, Next Door General Store, and R44 that are open for business and ready to serve your needs. And they each do so with a healthy dose of small-town charm at no additional cost.
