The Holden Arboretum announces Goblins in the Garden, its annual family-friendly, non-scary Halloween celebration. The fun runs from 10am -4:00pm on Saturday October 6 and Sunday, October 7. Little costumed guests are invited to trick-or-treat in a decorated garden setting during the daylight hours. Other activities include an afternoon of wagon rides, a scare crow row, cornstalk maze, straw pyramid climb, live entertainment and more.
This event is being expanded due to the increasing popularity of the family-friendly event. “Quite frankly, we needed to increase the hours of operation to better accommodate our visitors and still deliver a quality guest experience” said Peg Weir, Special Events Manager. Both days will feature the same activities.
New this year is live entertainment by folk music band Upriver with performances at 11am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm. In addition, a parade led by the Cat in the Hat and Dr. Seuss characters from the Willougbhy Fine Arts Association will take place at Noon each day.
To encourage car-pooling, admission is by the car load. Admission is just $10.00 per car for members and $15.00 per car. This is a rain or shine event and dogs on leashes are welcome. Food concessions are available. This event is funded in part by an Art and Culture Grant of the Lake County Visitors Bureau.
