The Garrettsville Area Chamber of Commerce – People Tree program was developed over 30 years ago to help our friends and neighbors in need.
Through various community operations, families, youth and elderly are served.
Each fall, the People Tree works with local schools to provide necessary school supplies for students for the upcoming year. In December, the People Tree provides Christmas food baskets and personal care products. The Adopt-a-Family volunteers provide Christmas gifts for nearly 200 local children from Garrettsville, Nelson, and Windham. Additionally, we have hospital beds, walkers, and wheelchairs available for loan. All of these activities are made possible through donations of items, money, and time! Amazing folks volunteer as bell ringers, sorters, shoppers, organizers, money solicitors, and paperwork shufflers.

? IGA and Save-A-Lot hosted our collection trees and bell ringers from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
? Slim and Jumbo’s, Sean Varner, and all the vendors supporting our Ladies’ Night Out!
? Garrettsville Eagles #2705, Daystar Ford, Bonner Meats, and Bins to Bargains Auction House in Twinsburg hosted toy drives.
? Barber of G-ville, Dollar General, Garrettsville Cinema, Huntington Bank, Middlefield Bank, The Mill, and Snap Fitness put out toy collection barrels.
? Deluxe Cleaners in Garrettsville has been collecting and cleaning coats for our Christmas giveaway for 26 years. This year we had 149 coats.
? Pick up for the Adopt-a-Family was hosted at the Faith Evangelical Free Church on Windham Parkman Rd.
? PODS donated a storage POD to help store and transport our packages!
? The Villager for always putting our ads in!

We provide food/toiletry only baskets as well as food/toiletry baskets for all the families in the
Adopt-a-Family program for kids 14 and under. This year we passed out 162 sets of food & toiletries!
138 Families Total = 85 families with 198 kids + 53 families w/o kids = 518 People served!
We work with the Salvation Army and Windham schools (through the Ben Curtis Foundation) to make sure everyone is on one of the lists.
