As an Army Specialist (Spec-4), he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with “V” device for valor in May of 1968, when he moved through intense enemy gunfire to resupply fellow soldiers who had been cut off from ammunition supplies. Terry served his country with courage, honor, and distinction.
After completing his military service, Terry went on to earn his degree from the Tennessee Bible College. As a clergyman, Terry was instrumental in founding a church and grade school. He later moved into the private sector where he held various positions including the Regional Vice President of Circuit City. Terry was a die-hard Cleveland Sports fan; a loving husband, father, and brother; and a loyal friend to many.
The family would like to thank everyone who has been involved in Terry’s care. His tireless and devoted caregiver, Emerita Mendez, always brought a smile to his face with her cheerful spirit. Additionally, the staff at Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Hospice showed tremendous compassion and provided top notch care to Terry. Their support during his final days was a true Godsend for Terry and his family.
