Stephen L. McCoy, 65, of Garrettsville passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born February 12, 1958, in Logan, West Virginia to his mother, Barbara McCoy Robinson.
He was a student at James A. Garfield High School. Steve was a talented sketcher and made many beautiful drawings. He was a notorious jokester and always had an ornery smile ready. A simple enjoyment of sitting outside by a fire was Steve’s happy place. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he enjoyed having a good time with all of his family and friends.
Steve will be deeply missed by his loving daughters, Christina (Chris Long) McCoy and Amy Sommers; grandchildren, Tatum Zauszniewski, Luke Zauszniewski, Savannah Murphy, Veda Ward, Avery Ward, Harley Ward, Summer Goss, and Abigayle Britton; sister, Robin (Bob) Niner, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Sommers, brother, Kenny Morgan, and nephew, Marc Mariana.
Visitation honoring Steve’s life was held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
