Rusty…

The new boarder seems to be settling in just fine.  “Rusty” the light orange kitten , newly acquired, is eating just fine, is being prime kitten-like in behavior so far…cute, cute, cute.  He follows me, or anybody, really.  I heard that he followed the postal worker the other morning…also somebody walking home from the Y. He’s getting to be known up there boy, is he.  The neighbors, bless ’em are keeping an eye on him, especially when he heads for the street. Numerous folks have brough him back from his explorations.   Then it’s back into the closed garage

One day I thought that I had settled him on the porch when I left for my morning walk–at 5:40am, for Pete’s sake–I was almost running, sure that I’d left him safe on the porch.  WRONG !   Partway down Liberty St. I hear little paw sounds behind me and there he was!  So I scooped him up, stuck him in the front pocket on my windbreaker and he went on the whole walk–complaining all the way.  Too bad, I tells him, you asked for it.

We have an appointment at the vet’s on Monday to get all of the basics covered.  Never can tell what a random cat can pick up wandering around as he does.

Speaking of which…

Saturday there was a session of Puppy Yoga scheduled at the Y–a fund-raiser for animal rescue or something equally worthy–but we one-upped that with Kitty Yoga–featuring Rusty–at eight-thirty.  He spent time following me after I went back to get him from home ( I checked to make sure it would be okay  with the other practitioners)  but we neglected to make his normal pit stop so at some time during the session he started meowing and wandering around in an agitated fashion and when he found what he apparently considered a suitable location, the pit stopped.  I cleaned up.  Soon’s somebody can teach a cat to do that for themselves, they’ll be everywhere.

Anyway, Kitty Yoga continued,.  Rusty was interested in toes, mats, movements, cat-stuff which unfathomable to anybody else, and thoroughly enjoying himself.  Happens most mornings too.  Maybe he’s a natural athlete.  Could go professional.
