Every single homo sapien who crosses the finish line will take home a commemorative finishers medal from this year’s Caveman Crawl 5K Trail Run & 1-Mile Fun Walk as we celebrate its mammoth 10th anniversary together!
Early registration, just $20, is open now at http://bit.ly/gpdcaveman for Geauga Park District’s trail-pounding, heart-pumping, costume-wearing athletic event for all ages on Sunday, September 12, at The West Woods. The first 250 registrants get a race T-shirt, too! Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m., and the race itself steps off at 9 a.m., with some free food and awards afterwards.
Caveman Crawl 5K participants follow a course of primarily well graded dirt and gravel with minimal pavement running. Walk it or run it, or opt to walk the 1-Mile Fun Walk course through the woods, to earn your medal, with all funds benefiting the Chip Henry Institute for Outdoor Adventure. Together we will help make it possible for more kids to be active in the parks through youth programming, which includes summer day camps for youth entering grades 5 through 10.
Feeling especially fun and festive? Come dressed in your finest prehistoric garb for a chance, at 8:30 a.m., to win a special handcrafted Best Costume award in youth or adult categories!
