Robert G. Smith, 85, of Garrettsville, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. He was born August 16, 1937, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Pearl and Esther (nee Bobst) Smith.
He was a proud member of Masonic Lodge #246 in Garrettsville. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, family & friends. He enjoyed the National Parks and everything they have to offer. He loved to spend time working on his scroll saw and wood carving. He was an ornery man who loved his family immensely. He never said no when asked to help with anything anytime day or night. He also loved his dog, Emma, who has provided great joy to him and his wife.
Bob will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Kay (nee Kreighbaum) Smith; children, Matthew (Angela) Smith and Kathleen (Thomas) Countryman; grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Smith, Eric Countryman, Ellen (Joseph) Kratky and Kristen (Benjamin) Hammer; great grandchildren, Maeve Smith, Ashton Joseph Hammer, Henry Kratky and Frederick Smith; sister, Janet Sheridan, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to invite friends to join them for a Masonic Service, which will be on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 3:00 P.M. – 3:30 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A Memorial Visitation will then begin at the funeral home immediately after. The Memorial Service will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the Rev. Richard Thewlis and Rev. Fred Bell officiating.
