Robert Edward Evans, age 91 of Freedom Township, passed away July 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 20, 1934, in Wayland, Ohio, to parents John Reese and Hilda Marie (Philipp) Evans. Robert graduated from Freedom High School in 1951, the final graduating class from Freedom High School. He then proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a devoted member of New Testament Baptist Church. Robert retired from General Motors in Lordstown. However, his primary interest was always farming. Robert grew up on the family farm working alongside his parents, siblings, and grandparents. He has now passed the farm to the next generation.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Diana L. (Dillon) Evans, who he married October 24, 1965. He is also survived by his children: Mark Evans, David (Deana) Evans, James (Brandi) Evans, and John Evans, his grandchildren: David, Lauren, Luke, Aaron, Norah, Rachael (fiancé Hayden), and Katelyn, as well as his brother Charles (Connie) Evans, along with generations of loving nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Auren and Ralph Evans.
Friends and family were received Monday, July 28, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at New Testament Baptist Church, 3583 State Route 59, Ravenna, OH 44266. Funeral services were officiated by Pastor Bob Burgess on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Interment took place on Tuesday at 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery, 8592 Darrow Rd, Twinsburg, OH 44087.
