Robert "Bob" J Moss

Robert “Bob” J. Moss, 71, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 23, 1954, in Braxton Co., WV, to the late Harl and Lois Moss.

He was also known as “Bob” or “Mossman”, and lived a life of dedication, heroism, and heart—a man who served his country with honor and his family with love. A proud 32 and half year veteran of the United States Air Force, Bob’s strength, courage, and devotion left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was more than a serviceman—he was a mentor, a friend, and a quiet hero. Bob was a man of faith. He was raised in Nelson United Methodist church. Even in the final days he found comfort in the Lord’s hymns.

Bob graduated from Garfield in 1972 and carried the values of his hometown with him throughout his life. He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys: cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Scrappers; spending weekends at yard sales; scratching off lottery tickets with hope and humor; and most importantly, cherishing every moment with his family. To those who knew him, Bob was a steady and generous presence, always willing to lend a hand or share a laugh. He was deeply loved, and his legacy of kindness, service, and devotion will continue to live on through his family and friends.

Robert J. Moss was a true hero. Taken by God but never taken from our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Moss, of Nelson, Ohio and his children. Jessica (Brian) Perrine, Wesley (Jennifer) Williams, Amanda (David) Brust, Jeremy (Leesa) Williams, Angela Bender, Chrystal (Kyle) Valentine, Tiffanie (Chris) Radwanski; 20 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Mark (Trish)Moss, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Doris Jean Neer and Lois Jean Anthony.
