The Friends of Melana Foundation is hosting the 8th annual 5k and 1 mile fun run/walk on Sunday morning of the Garrettsville Summerfest, June 24th, 2018. The race starts at 9:00 a.m. in downtown Garrettsville. All proceeds from this event go towards research for children’s brain cancer, the number one cause of cancer deaths in young people. The race is in memory of Melana Matson who lost her battle with the disease at the age of nine.
Register online at www.gopherarun.com or during Summerfest weekend at the Friends of Melana booth on the bridge. Race day registration opens at 7:30 a.m. under the tent at St. Ambrose Church.
