Regina M. Sodo, 98, of Troy Township, Welshfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Inn at the Pines, Hiram, Ohio. Reggie, as she was fondly known, was born December 26, 1924, in Troy Township to Frank and Mary (Misiak) Sodo. A graduate of Troy High School, Reggie began a long career with General Electric, Nela Park, in 1943, starting as a wartime worker and ending 42 years later as an executive secretary. She was a member of St. Edward’s Church in Parkman and also belonged to the Ladies Club of Troy and the Fifty-Five Plus Club.

Reggie is survived by nieces Linda C. (Charles) Poole of Ohio, Janet V. (John) Morrissey of Massachusetts and Barbara J. (Lloyd Klein) Visocan of California; stepdaughters Susan (David) Corlett of New York and Cindy (Gregory) Batchelor of Florida; six grand nieces and nephews; eight great grandnieces and nephews, as well as numerous step grandchildren and great step grandchildren.

An independent and vibrant personality, she was well liked throughout her life and adored by her large circle of family and friends. She enjoyed porcelain painting, raising orchids, dining out with friends, traveling, dancing, watching basketball and vintage movies, gardening, and singing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin Durschlag; sister, Helen (Sodo) Visocan; and brother-in-law, William Visocan.

A memorial service to celebrate Reggie’s life will be held at a future date. Please periodically check the website of www.carlsonfuneralhomes.com for updates. Reggie will be privately inurned.
