Raymond L. Mitchell, 88, of Windham, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at his residence. He was born on March 15, 1930 in Mt. Lebanon, PA, the son of Paul and Verna (Baumgarten) Mitchell.
After achieving his formal education he served our country in the US Army.
On March 4, 1961 in Windham, Ray was united in marriage with Wilma Duffield.
Raymond worked as a produce manager at A& P, went on to work at General Electric in Ravenna and after retiring from General Electric he worked at IGA in Garrettsville for 15 years and fully retired.
Raymond was a kind giving, sharing person who would help out anyone. In his spare time he enjoyed watching NASCAR, travelling and vacations, especially to Cooks Forest in PA, Holly River in WV and Hilton Head Island.
Cherished memories of Raymond will be carried on by his wife Wilma of Windham, sons John (Vicki) Mitchell of Parkman, James (Tracie) Mitchell of Kent, daughters Lorelei Gunnoe of Jensen Beach, FL and Christina (Matt) Mitchell of Freedom, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a great great grandson that will be born in January.
Preceding Raymond in death was a brother Herb Mitchell.
