Raymond Dewey Davis, 83, of Garrettsville, went home as a result of a stroke on Tuesday January 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was the 3rd child of Lawrence and Dora (Johnson) Davis, born January 15, 1935 in Prosperity WV. Ray married the love of his life Wilma Jo (Paugh) on November 20, 1954.
He started his work career at Harbison Walker in Windham then went on to Tennet/Cargill in Warren, finishing at Windham Exempted Schools. Raymond enjoyed working on lawn mowers and small engines, gardening and growing roses. He loved listening to bluegrass music and spending time with his family.
Raymond’s memory will be cherished by his loving children, Jimmy (Michele) Davis, Dale Davis both of Ravenna, David (Rhonda) Davis of McDonald, daughter Betty Hajjar of Lakeside California, Judy (Donald) Keslar of Garrettsville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Jarrell many other family members and life-long friend Vane Cottrill.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Wilma on May 11, 2007; brothers Charles and Grover Davis and sister Martha Davis as well as his parents.
Visitation was held on Friday January 4, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 8382. A Funeral service for Raymond was held on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00. Burial followed at Harrington Cemetery.
