Ravenna – The Ravenna Lions are joining the challenge to help dispose of some of the common plastics that enter your house but aren’t acceptable for traditional curbside recycling…It’s the TREX Recycling Program – The aim is to divert certain kinds of plastics from landfills and turn them into sturdy wood alternative products.
The Ravenna Lions will be hosting a plastic drive thru drop-off collection on Saturday August 7 at the Ravenna First United Methodist Church parking lot (between the church and 7/17 Credit Union) on the corner of Prospect Rd and Riddle St from 10am-12:00noon
We will be collecting ONLY soft plastics…grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper bags, ice bags, plastics shipping envelopes, produce bags, salt bags, cases of water/paper towels/toilet paper overwrap, zip lock and other re-closable food storage bags. All plastic must be clean, dry and free of food residue.
Any questions or to make other arrangements for pick up: Please contact Lion Jill at 330-931-8028. For every 500/lbs collected, The Ravenna Lions will receive a TREX composite outdoor bench to be placed in a public space yet to be determined.
