As most people already know, the Ohio Secretary of State’s office has compiled a list of thousands of voters to be purged. Some of those individuals have responded to forms sent by that office, but many have not. If you wish to find out if you are on that list, you can go to the website, www.ohiosos.gov/registration reset, which has a searchable database of people who could be purged for failing to vote for six years
Voters can update their registrations, in case of a change of address or name, by visiting OhioSos.gov/update or with Portage County Board of Elections (330 297-3511, 449 S. Meridian Street, Ravenna, OH 44266). Public libraries and high schools also have registration forms.
The last day to register or register to vote in the November 5, 2019 election will be October 7.
Early voting begins October 8. Absentee ballots must be returned by November 4.
