Rootstown – “Homecoming” is the theme of this year’s Portage County Senior Celebration, which will be held Tuesday, October 9, at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) on State Route 44 in Rootstown.
In keeping with the theme, seniors are encouraged to dress as if they were attending their Homecoming dance. The color theme is red, orange and yellow to celebrate Fall. There will be music, raffles, a short comedy act, and a meal. This year’s senior award winners will be recognized.
The fun starts at 9 a.m. Tickets must be pre-purchased ($10 each) and can be found at the following senior centers: Portage County (located at 705 Oakwood St. in Ravenna), Streetsboro and Aurora.
The event is open to anyone 55 and older.
