Ravenna – Are you eager to get back in the garden? Then why not start the season early with some good gardening tips to improve your soil health and reduce the amount of chemicals you use?
The Portage County Master Gardeners and Portage SWCD are collaborating to offer a VIRTUAL workshop on Saturday, February 26th from 10 – 11:30 a.m., titled, ‘IPM & Cover Crops for the Home Garden’. This workshop is free and open to the public.
Ashley Kulhanek with OSU Extension will introduce the key elements of an Integrated Pest Management program and guide participants through some basic strategies for managing garden pests. Also with us for this event is Ann Brandt with Walnut Creek Seeds. Improving soil health should be a goal of every gardener and Ann can deliver a crash course in soil health better than just about anybody! Ann will focus on how incorporating cover crops into the home garden can boost soil health.
Both Ashley and Ann have wonderful teaching styles that will compliment a virtual learning experience. Please join us!
