Ravenna – On the evening of Saturday, April 6th, the Portage County Literacy Coalition hosted the Bill Gray Fundraising Event at the Elk’s Club located on Cleveland Road in Ravenna, Ohio.
The evening was a success with Miriam Steely heading the event along with Lori Cantor, Bev Crites, and the rest of the Aspire staff from Maplewood Career Center. Friends and family showed up to support Bill Gray. Bill actually showed up at the event with some help and stayed for a short time.
The event served a delicious spaghetti dinner and desserts with area businesses donating to the cause. A special thanks to Giant Eagle of Ravenna and Dumas Meats of Mogadore. There was fun had by all with music supplied by Madman DJ Services of Alliance, a 50/50, plenty of baskets raffled, a special raffle for $500 in gift cards from local restaurants, and an auction with great items.
Donations are still needed for Bill Gray, 29, of Ravenna while he is battling brain cancer. Any funds collected will help offset costs for medical bills, medications, nursing, and physical therapy. If you can donate $5 dollars or any other amount, please send your check (marked for “Bill Gray”) to: The Portage County Literacy Coalition, 7075 St. Rt. #88, Ravenna, Ohio 44266. Any amount is greatly appreciated. If there is any other way you can help, please call (330) 235-0020.
