The Portage County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will begin its fall meeting schedule on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Portage County Historical Society at 10:00 a.m. The Society is located at 6549 North Chestnut Street, Ravenna Ohio. The chapter will have a business meeting followed by a power point presentation by Barb Petroski. The topic will be “Using Property Deeds for Genealogy-Basic Research for Home Ownership.” The program is free and open to anyone interested in genealogy or historical research. On October 1, 2022 the chapter will hold its annual First Settler’s luncheon at the Portage County Historical Society from 11:30 to 1:30. This luncheon is open to all members and one guest only. On November 5, 2022, Joe Stamm will present a program on his family’s ancestors from the northern Portage county area.
