What a year 2020 has been. The needs in our community have never been greater and the generosity of our community rose to meet the challenge. Wednesday, Dec 9 saw a drive thru distribution of Christmas gifts, food, personal items and coats at the Faith Free Evangelical Church on Windham Parkman Road.
With the help of the Church, Sky Plaza IGA, Dollar General, Save a Lot grocery, Garrettsville EMS, Kepich Ford, Deluxe Cleaners, PODS, Monroe Orchard in Hiram and the countless adopters, donors (several anonymous) and volunteers, 224 children received some Christmas cheer. Additionally, 55 households without children received food and personals to help stretch through the holiday season. There is still time to help by adding a donation on your IGA grocery bill!
It is truly a humbling experience to serve our neighbors and friends! There are not thanks enough to appreciate each and every one of those who gave their time, money and good will to help us reach as many in need as possible. We also would like to welcome Lisa Irwin to the People Tree Board as Assistant Director of Fundraising! Thank you Lisa!
