Nual G. Peoples, 86, of Garrettsville, went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was born in Greenwood, AR on January 30, 1937, to the late Odis and Ruth (nee Been) Peoples.
He was raised in Greenwood, AR, and graduated from Greenwood High School. Nual went on to Ouachita Baptist University, in Arkadelphia, AR, then to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Ft. Worth, TX, to receive his Master in Divinity degree. He pastored many churches in the AR area, then in the Portage County area for over 20 years. When Nual retired from the ministry, he created and operated his own business, People’s Mobile Home Supply and Movers, which was in business for 20 years. Nual was a simple man with simple pleasures, such as, cutting wood to build his fires, reading, playing games, working jigsaw puzzles, and square dancing, which he and his wife enjoyed together for many years. He loved his family, and held extreme pride for every member, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nual will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Patsy (Geren) Peoples, who was blessed to share 68 years of marriage; children, Tamera (Ken) Teague, Eric (Jerilyn) Peoples, and Melanie Peoples; grandchildren, John Keith (Gisele) Owens, Craig Peoples, and T.J. Pratt; great grandchildren, Giulia Owens, Connor Pratt, and Caleb Pratt; sister, Helen Izell, as well as many nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Odis Peoples, Jr., Effie Nell Plunkett, C.D. Peoples, and Anna Dean Ruffine.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A funeral service was held at the funeral home with the Rev. Mac Matthews officiating. Nual was then laid to rest at Park Cemetery.
The family would like to encourage those who wish to send flowers to instead donate the money to a church of their choice, in Nual’s name, to honor his love of God and ministry. For online condolences go to carlsonfuneralhomes.com.
