Northern Portage “MEET THE CANDIDATE” Nights

Local elections are just around the corner, and the League of Women Voters of Northern Portage County invites everyone to our Meet the Candidates nights. There will be three sessions: 

Garrettsville Area: Garrettsville, Nelson, Windham, Freedom

Date/Time: Wednesday September 24 at 6:30 PM

Location: Klamer Center at the James A. Garfield Schools campus, 10207 OH-88 Garrettsville

Candidates invited:  Council, Trustee, School Board Races

 Crestwood Area: Mantua Village, Mantua Township, Hiram Village, Hiram Township, Shalersville

Date/Time: Tuesday September 30 at 6:30 PM

Location: Crestwood Central Offices Building, 10880 John Edward Dr, Mantua

Candidates invited: Council, Trustee, School Board Races

 Aurora

Date/Time: Monday October 6 at 6:30 PM

Location: Aurora Schools Kohanski Center, 119 W. Pioneer Trail, Aurora

Candidates invited: Mayor, Council, School Board Races

 Each session will follow a traditional candidate forum format. Candidates will have one minute to introduce themselves to the audience. For races where two or more candidates are present, the League will moderate five questions to be answered by each candidate. At the end, all attending candidates will have an opportunity to mix and mingle with community members. Representatives who can speak to local issues on the ballot have also been invited.

 All candidates have been invited via email. If you are a candidate, please RSVP at www.lwvnpc.org.

 Election Day is Tuesday November 4, 2025. The last day to register or update your voter registration is Monday October 6. Early voting begins on October 7.
