New Meeting Time Announced by Families Anonymous

636

FAMILIES ANONYMOUS of Portage County announces a change in our meeting times. Starting on May 14, 2018, our meeting will begin at 7:30 pm (instead of 7:00pm) every Monday except holidays. Our sessions usually last about one hour.

Meeting location remains at Coleman Behavioral Services, Sue Hetrick Building, 3922 Lovers Lane/Loomis Parkway in Ravenna.

FAMILIES ANONYMOUS is an independent, non-profit fellowship of people whose lives have been affected by a relative or friend who is controlled by alcohol or drugs. People that are addicted to drugs or alcohol are mostly unaware that their “disease” affects people other than themselves. They might manipulate, take advantage of, or even harm their loved ones in their obsession. Their sense of “family values” has been lost entirely!
This situation often leads to emotional or financial hardships that their family or significant others must bear. Families usually choose to either continue enabling the addict, usually without even realizing that they’re doing it, or totally exclude the addict from the family. Either of these is the most difficult decision that they may face, and most times they face it ALONE!

The purpose of Families Anonymous of Portage County is to restore serenity, faith in ourselves, and self-esteem that only a “group effort” can achieve. There are no initiation fees or dues; all we ask is keep attending because your serenity is worth the small effort.
