Barbara Cooper has been a member of Nelson United Methodist Church since she was sixteen. Barbara married Dale Cooper in the church on November 16, 1946.
At the proud age of 95 she continues to have very active life. Barbara plays games 3 days a week and attends crafty ladies at the church two times a month. She goes to the Garrettsville library regularly and watches the Jeopardy Game show. She especially likes it when she knows the answer the contestants don’t.
Barbara faithfully attends church. She belongs to the church mission group, D. J. Missions. When the group was making dresses for the children in Peru she made over a hundred out of the total 757. Then the mission group made hospital gowns for Robinson Hospice Program. When that project ended she continued to make hospital gowns for Briar Hill in Middlefield. Linnette Patrick works with her by cutting them out then Barbara sews them together. This picture shows Barbara on March 23, 2003 with her 800th gown completed. They also make lap covers, Linnette quilts and Barbara crochets hers. Together they have supplied Briar Hill with 60 lap covers.
