Mental health challenges – such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders– are common in the United States. In fact, more than one in five American adults will have a mental health problem in any given year.
Coleman Professional Services and the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County provide Mental Health First Aid courses to prepare the community members with the knowledge and skills to help individuals who are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training teaches the participants to better identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses.
The next Mental Health First Aid class will be held on January 7th and 8th from 8am-noon each day. The cost is $25 and includes the workbook, training materials, and a continental breakfast each day. To register call 330.673.1756 ext 201 or visit www.mental-health-recovery.org
