Eric David Faber, 51 years of age of Garrettsville, passed away Tuesday January 20, 2015 at his residence. Eric was born on November 20, 1963 in Carbondale, Illinois, the son of Robert J. and Dorothy E. (Armour) Faber. A resident of Garrettsville the past 18 years, Eric had been employed at Silver Creek Organic Farms in Hiram the past 20 years where he took great pride in working with the horticultural aspect of the operation. Eric graduated from Chardon High School and Hocking College and was an avid outdoorsman and naturalist. His love of nature, with a passion for ornithology, poetry and art was well-known to family and friends. He was as keen at identifying bird songs as he was at identifying classic rock songs. Eric also enjoyed singing in the choir at Hiram Christian Church and would spend his free-time birding with his father and close friends and spending time with his family. All who knew Eric found him kind and easy to talk to and appreciated his quirky sense of humor and ability to make people smile. Eric is survived by his father Robert J. Faber of Hiram, his mother and step-father Dorothy and Ronald Smitko of Newbury, sisters Michelle ( Faber) Reda of Chardon, Kristine Faber of Hiram, Julie (Feather-Faber)(Matt) Fannon of Springfield, Ohio and Elena Feather-Faber of Mentor, two nephews, a niece and many cousins and aunts.
