This year, on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, Bainbridge Community United Church of Christ has chosen to remember our veterans who have suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
In a report released by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, our veterans commit an average of 20 suicides a day.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a serious problem. Because of this, Bainbridge Community Church has dedicated a Memorial Tree to honor those who could not cope with the demons of war. Every day during the month of May a symbolic set of dog tags will be hung on the tree accompanied by a moment of silence for veterans and their families who have suffered or are suffering from the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We will be dedicating the tree on Sunday, May 27th at approximately 1:00 pm following the Bainbridge Township Memorial Ceremony at Restland Cemetery. We invite all to come to the dedication or to stop by the Memorial Tree to spend a moment of mediation or prayer.
Bainbridge Church is located at 17751 Chillicothe Road (Rt. 306), Bainbridge, Ohio.
