Margaret Paul passed away in her Freedom Township home on May 21, 2020 at age of 96.
Margaret was the mother of six, grandmother to 19 and great-grandmother to 22.
She was born February 21, 1924 at the Lansinger home on Jones Street in Ravenna, Ohio. Margaret was the third of four children of Harry and Blanche Lansinger. The family lived for a short time in Detroit, Michigan, and then settled on a large farm on King Road in Freedom.
She attended Freedom School where she met her husband to be, Bernard Paul. Margaret attended Bohecker’s Business College, and then worked at the Ravenna Arsenal in the tire rationing office.
Margaret’s beloved husband Bernard passed away in 1984. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Marvin, Lucille, and Frederick. Also, her daughter Rosemary Paul Angel passed away in December 2019.
Margaret and Bernard raised six children: Douglas (Golda) of Hiram; Sandra Title (Jackson, deceased) of Freedom; Rosemary Angel (deceased); Tim of Garrettsville, Michael (Vicky) of Windham and Eric (Mistine) of Hartville.
Margaret and son Mike owned and operated Valley Tire Sales together for many years before she retired in her 80’s. She was wise, well-read, a world traveler, a proud Democrat, a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, an artist. Her memory will stay in our hearts forever.
In donating her body to medical science, Margaret’s kind and giving spirit will continue. It was her desire to benefit research and training of students, fulfilling her wish to be a donor. The family has decided to celebrate her life more fully in July 2021.
In the meantime, Margaret was always happiest when her family and friends were in their element, doing things they loved to do. So do things in Margaret’s memory; mowing (she loved the smell of newly mown grass), planting, flying, playing music, having a picnic or a tea party, baking bread or an apple pie, painting a picture, quilting, refurbishing furniture or designing and hand hooking woolen rugs, teaching or playing with a grandchild. Smile and remember her.
Margaret would say “live your life with no regrets”.
