Team members from Mar-Bal, Inc. in Chagrin Falls joined together on a “Make the Difference Day” on Friday, July 12. In partnership with United Way Services of Geauga County, Mar-Bal employees volunteered at WomenSafe, a local domestic violence shelter and United Way partner agency. Employees spent the afternoon assisting with landscaping projects. This included them securing a donation of mulch and annuals to brighten the grounds for all guests receiving WomenSafe services.
“WomenSafe has been so blessed to have community members offer their time to maintaining the grounds of our beautiful shelter and resource center. We thank them all for their efforts, smiles, and energy,” stated Shayna Jackson, Executive Director of WomenSafe.
“It has been a pleasure for us to get out of our work environment and help such a worthwhile agency that serves our friends and neighbors throughout the Geauga County community, ”said Scott Balogh, President and CEO of Mar-Bal. “I came to know of the work of WomenSafe when I was walking my dogs at the West Woods. A young lady wanted to walk them with me and all along the way she told me about her journey of recovering from living in a violent household and how WomenSafe helped her.”
Mar-Bal understands that personal, business and community prosperity go hand in hand. Mar-Bal, the United Way, and WomenSafe share a common goal of helping people achieve self-sufficiency.
