Lucinda (Cindy) Linn Hayes age 72 of Windham passed away peacefully on Monday Feb 12, 2024 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina, OH. She was born on Feb. 17, 1951 on Glady Creek in Fairmont, WV, the daughter of the late Madaline Lucille (Linn) Wolfe. Cindy married the love of her life, Charles Edward Hayes, on July 10, 1967 and they have enjoyed the past 56 years of marriage together until he passed away on Jan. 17, 2024. She had lived in Windham for over 40 years. Formerly of Fairmont, WV, Cindy worked for Jos-Tech Inc in Kent for many years, retiring in 2006. She enjoyed watching NASCAR driver Dale Jr., going to casinos to play the slot machines, and going to Ronnie McDowell concerts. Cindy is preceded in death by her mother & step- father: Madaline Linn Wolfe and Harry Wolfe, her husband: Charles E. Hayes, brother: Tommy Linn, sister and brother in law: Robin Linn Kascsak and David Kascsak.
She is survived by: 3 nieces: Lisa Sanchez who was like a daughter, Melissa & Kenny Eskins, Brenda Britt, a nephew who was like a son: Christopher & Amber Sanchez, 2 great nieces: Lauren Sanchez whom she helped raise, and Savannah Britt, 5 great nephews: Cade, Cruz and Coen Sanchez whom she loved to spoil, Charles Britt and Brandon Zavara, sister-in-law & brother-in-law: Herb & Twila Smith, and numerous cousins.
Funeral services were at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday Feb. 20, 2024 at 7:00pm with Rev. Steve Spurlock officiating. The family received friends for calling hours from 5:00- 7:00pm. Cremation followed the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations please be made to the Garrettsville Youth Baseball Association C/O Chris Sanchez 8481 Eagle Creek Drive Garrettsville, OH 44231 in her memory. A special thank you to her cousin Harold & Barb Hays for spending time with her at the hospital and hospice care. Thank you to Dr. Hamad, nurses, and staff at the Seidman Cancer Center for the wonderful care given to Cindy and her family.
