Louie F. “Joe” Layer, III of New Albany, IN, formerly of Campbellsville, KY passed away at 7:39am on Saturday, August 27, 2022 in New Albany, IN.
Joe, the son of the late Louie F. Layer, II and Jeanne M. Layer, was born in Garrettsville, OH on August 24, 1939. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, B. Jeanne Layer whom he married on February 1, 1972. Joe was a retired USDA meat inspector.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Scott) Thomas of Louisville, KY and Stephanie (Kelly) Smith of New Albany, IN and two granddaughter, Katelyn Claire Nash and Lilly Jeanne Nash of Louisville, KY.
Cremation has been chosen, and Magnolia Cremations of New Albany, IN has been entrusted with the arrangements.
