Linda Simera, 62, of Asheboro, NC, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, with her loving husband by her side. She was born July 29, 1960, in Youngstown, OH, to the late Raymond and Betty Gettings.
She was a lifelong Ohioan until she and her husband, Brian, decided to head to warmer weather in NC. Linda was proud to have worked for over 16 years for Pugh Funeral Home, where her coworkers were her dear friends and were considered to be family. She enjoyed camping with her husband, and visiting with her family in Ohio, especially her grandsons. Her fur-baby, Chico, was her pride and joy; if you saw Linda, then you probably also met Chico, who was her sidekick. She had a big heart and cared deeply for the ones she loved, and will forever be greatly missed.
Linda’s legacy will be carried on by her husband, Brian Simera, who was blessed to share 31 years of marriage; children, Jill Gettings and Longino Roman; grandsons, Joey, Vinny, and Lennox; siblings, Lynn (Shelly) Gettings, Floyd (Robin) Gettings, Raymond (Jean) Gettings, and Betty (Mike) Kohn; parents-in-law, Paul & Bobbie Simera; sister-in-law, Chris (Mark) Knapp; brother-in-law, George Maloney, and several nephews and nieces, whom she cherished very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marie Maloney.
A memorial visitation was held Monday, June 19, 2023, 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., with a memorial service beginning at noon, with Fr. Jacob Bearer officiating at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Linda was then taken to Harrington Cemetery in Nelson, Twp., where she was lovingly laid to rest. For online condolences, go to www.carlsonfuneralhomes.com.
